She has helped produce and promote designer show houses and other design related special events in the USA and Japan. In media, she was editor of Good Housekeeping Do it Yourself, Woman’s Day Special Interest Publication’s Weekend Decorating Projects and home editor of City Family magazines. Decorating columns and articles in Walls Windows & Floors, Decorating Ideas, Sew News, Sewing Decor, Weekend Remodeling, HOME, Newsday, Jo-Ann Fabrics and more, all show off Klein’s dramatic rooms and original designs. She was one of the authors of Simply the Best Book of Home Decorating from Simplicity Pattern Company and a consultant on the books Creative Window Treatments and Vogue & Butterick Home Decorating Projects. TV audiences have seen Klein and her projects on “CBS This Morning,” “DIY Crafts,” “Good Morning America” and WMAR’s “Around the House.” Behind the scenes, she developed the home decorating segments for the PBS series Sewing Today and has produced designs, booklets and other materials for Velcro Brand Products, Minwax, Coats & Clark and others. Klein holds BS and MS degrees, and has taught teens and adults. Because of her creative community programs and design solutions such as starting a Mother’s Morning Out program; spearheading and implementing a colorful, interactive toddler indoor park, TREK; and co-founding Great Neck the Beautiful which enhanced traffic medians; she has won numerous local, regional and national awards. She has served on the boards of many community and professional organizations and is currently on the international board of directors of IFDA, the International Furnishings and Design Association, IFDA.com, and served as President and currently serves as VP Development for the New York Chapter and has been instrumental in helping to start the Japan Chapter of IFDA.
